Bezoek de mijngebouwen

Tijdens de mijnhappening kan je gratis door de mijngebouwen lopen. Op verschillende plaatsen staan suppoosten, aarzel niet om ze aan te spreken.

Sluitertijd

Expo i.k.v. 30 jaar mijnsluiting

De jaren 1980 waren een extreem woelige periode in de mijnstreek. De steenkoolmijnen werden met sluiting bedreigd en mijnwerkers kwamen op straat voor hun broodwinning.  Tijdens de Mijnhappening wordt dit extra belicht met een uitgebreide expo.

Mijnwerkers, een vak apart

Expo i.k.v. 30 jaar mijnsluiting

Deze fototentoonstelling brengt een ode aan alle mijnwerkers. Maar liefst 96 foto’s lichten diverse beroepen uit die mijnwerkers in de ondergrond en op de bovengrond uitvoerden. Vaak spreekt men over “de mijnwerker”, maar “de mijnwerker” bestaat eigenlijk niet.

Expo 'Kool'

Poëzie en beeldende kunst

30 jaar is het geleden dat de steenkoolmijn van Beringen haar deuren sloot. Om dit te herdenken gaan er in september en oktober tal van activiteiten door. Eén daarvan is de tentoonstelling KOOL met poëzie en beeldende kunst rond het mijnverleden in het Eeuwfeestgebouw.
